A little about me

Hi, I’m Steve Morneau.

CDFA® · Financial Planner & Co-Founder

I’m a financial planner, a parent, and someone who believes you should understand the advice you’re given.

I work with individuals and families through everyday financial questions and the changes that call for a closer look. My approach starts with listening, explaining the options, and getting to know what matters to you.

Away from the desk

Family, fresh air,
and time together.

Outside of work, I enjoy time with my family—on the mountain, on the golf course, or out enjoying Vermont. These photos are a small glimpse of that part of my life.

When I sit down with someone to talk about money, I try to keep that wider picture in mind. There are people, responsibilities, and plans behind the numbers.

What working with me is like

Room for questions.
Time to understand.

You don’t need to know all the financial terminology or have everything figured out before we talk. We can start with the decisions in front of you and work through what information would help.

I lead with planning and education. I want you to understand what we’re considering, why it may fit your circumstances, and what the tradeoffs are.

I start by listening.

Your priorities, concerns, and experience with money give our work its direction.

I explain the why.

We discuss options in plain language, including costs, risks, and the reasoning behind recommendations.

I consider the whole picture.

Your investments are one part of your financial life. Family needs, cash flow, and future plans matter too.

When life changes

Support through the financial side of divorce.

Divorce can bring financial questions into focus all at once. As a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® professional, I help people organize their information and consider how decisions about housing, retirement, cash flow, and proposed settlements may affect their financial future.

When appropriate to our engagement, I coordinate with your attorney, mediator, and tax professional. My role is to help you understand the financial considerations as you work through those decisions.

Divorce financial planning does not include legal representation, mediation, preparation of legal documents or tax returns, or determining legal rights or settlement terms. The CDFA® designation is a professional credential, not a license to practice law. Consult your attorney and tax professional about legal and tax matters.

My professional background

Experience behind the conversation.

My financial advisory experience dates to 2014, and I earned a B.S. in Business Management & Economics from Plymouth State University. Today, as a co-founder of Greenhill Financial Partners, I work with individuals, families, and small business owners on financial planning, investments, retirement, and life transitions.

Greenhill is a fee-only firm: we are paid by clients rather than commissions from investment or insurance product sales. We have a fiduciary duty when providing investment advisory services. Our services, scope, and fees are set out in the applicable agreement.
